Poignancy, West-Coast style

Monday, August 4th, 2008 By Mike Maurer

The nicest of sentiments, brought to you by the governments of Los Angeles and California: “We are all in this hellhole together.”

Thanks, Arnold.

The story is about graffiti and violence. The best part is a gang member who describes why it’s understandable that 60-year-olds are shot in the head and six-year-olds have their eyes spray painted for complaining or even just looking while the artists–their term–work. It’s not bad, as far as a statement of private property goes: “You are trying to stop me from what I live, what I believe in and what I breathe? We are not going to let no one get in the way.”

Just understand, it’s his property, not yours.
