Private schools need more accountability…

Monday, April 6th, 2009 By Beth Lear

really?  The Dayton Daily News thinks so.  The Governor’s budget would require private schools who accept EdChoice students to give state tests to ALL their students.  The Dayton Daily thinks this equals increased accountability.  Since when did PRIVATE schools need more accountability?  And since when did all the state’s rules and regs, allegedly to improve accountability in the PUBLIC schools, succeed at improving academic outcomes in Dayton or Columbus or Cleveland?  Private schools should fight this intrusion.  Parents already hold these schools accountable better than government ever will.
