Where are all the businesses going?

What a sad state of affairs for Ohio. Our unemployment rate is above 10%, the government take over of the auto businesses is closing plants left and right, and now, more bad news.
A Dayton-area business, NCR Corp., with a 125 year history in Ohio, is pulling up roots and 1,250 jobs and moving to Georgia (according to the Dayton Daily News).
The question we should be asking is, “Why are they leaving?” They’ve obviously found a better environment for their business than Ohio. It’s no wonder, since Ohio is one of the highest tax states in the nation. But in spite of that reality, many of our elected ‘leaders’ and their bureaucrat friends are finagling to keep their fiefdoms funded - meaning more taxes will eventually be needed to cover their excessive spending habits. Ohioans, our state is ranked 47th in the nation in economic outlook in the book Rich States, Poor States. Even worse, we’re ranked 49th, with 50 being worst, in economic performance.
Meanwhile, Georgia is ranked 8th in economic outlook. Could it be because the have a lower income tax than Ohio? Because they have no ‘death tax’? Because they are a Right-to-Work state? Or perhaps all of the above? Ohio has some serious changes to make unless we want our only option to be a Federal bailout like California. I, for one, value my freedom and the 10th amendment too much. It’s time for a change.

I own and operate several gasoline/convenience stores, and because of the predatory taxes in Ohio, especially the CAT Tax, we are struggling to make it.
If I could pick up my businesses and move them out of Ohio, I would, but unfortunately I have real estate involved. No one is discussing the devasting effect of the CAT Tax any longer, but believe me, all of my business associates are impacted, and discuss it constantly. (Our business is “High Dollar, Low Margin”).
I would love to donate to all of your causes, because they are extremely important, but quite simply, my wife and I just do not have the extra money….And the CAT rate goes up again soon!!
