Yeah, make the dumb idea bigger–that’ll fix it

Friday, September 5th, 2008

Tails between their legs, the big governators are dropping their proposal to force Ohioans out of their jobs, humorously called the “Healthy Families Act.” It’s humorous because poverty is demonstrably unhealthy.

What was the main reason it was killed? Well, Buckeye already has the main reason covered, but the main publicly admitted reason was that it would drive jobs to neighboring Indiana, Kentucky:

Ohio would have been the first state to approve a bill requiring paid sick days and this could have harmed Ohio’s economy, said Strickland.

So what do the proponents want to do? Make it a federal law.

I guess they don’t like Hoosiers any better than they do Ohioans. They want to drive those jobs all the way to China.

Maybe they should try California’s exit tax, or buy up the pieces of the Berlin Wall to install here.

Goodness, what is wrong with these folks? I hope some conservatives, somewhere, are keeping their eyes on the developments of so-called “International Law.” Someday these socialists are going to find an army big enough to implement their disastrous policies.
