Robert Premus, Ph.D.

Senior Fellow in Regulation, Telecommunications, and Economic Development

Bob Premus has more than three decades of experience researching, writing, and analyzing technology issues and regional economic development.

From 1981 to 1984, Dr. Premus was a staff economist for the Joint Economic Committee of the Congress where he pioneered some of the nation's first research on the business location decisions of hi-technology firms, venture capital, and the climate for entrepreneurship and innovation in the United States.

Dr. Premus has authored eight books and monographs, more than 40 academic journal articles and book chapters, and 20 research reports. His work has appeared in a variety of professional publications, including the Annals of Regional Science, the Southern Economic Review, Environment and Planning, Asian Pacific Tech Monitor, the International Journal of Technology Transfer and Commercialization, the Academy of Information and Management Sciences Journal, the Journal of Business Logistics, and the International Journal of Technology Management.

He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Lehigh University, M.A. from Ohio University, and B.A. from Bob Jones University.
