Michael J. Maurer, Director
Center for Transparent and Accountable Government
Michael J. Maurer is the director of the Center for Transparent and Accountable Government at the Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions. His activities include research, policy analysis and writing about topics such as government accountability, intergovernmental relations, private property, journalism, and major state programs such as education and health care.
Mr. Maurer has worked in private practice as an attorney and also as a community news and statehouse reporter. He has served as both a print and Web editor and his columns and news reporting have been recognized by Suburban Newspapers of America, the Ohio Newspaper Association and the Press Club of Cleveland.
Mr. Maurer received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1984 and his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1987. He lives with his wife and daughter in Columbus, Ohio.
