We have offered comments on a recent police raid in LaGrange, Ohio on a family’s organic food co-op and their home.
Much has been published on this incident since, but you can hear directly from the Stowers themselves in this interview:
The Buckeye Institute’s 1851 Center for Constitutional Law is filing suit today against the Ohio Department of Agriculture and other government agencies citing seizure of private property without compensation, unlawful exercise of administrative authority and unlawful application of state police power, among other violations of freedoms guaranteed by the Ohio Constitution.

I am so glad you have filed this suit. I think you might contact Home School Legal Defense for some help, as homeschooled children were involved and their curriculum and work was confiscated along with the family’s computers.

That’s a good point. I know that some material was returned today, but I don’t know what. I’m not expecting that the Stowers are participating in the HSLD, but we’ll take a look. David

I tried to sign-up for your e-newsletter to follow this very disturbing event. I stand with the Stowers family. …When I tried to sign-up, I got the following error: “Unspecified error: 500 Interest Category does not Exist: Buckeye Institute Updates.” If you can get me on your mailing list manually, that would be great.

I just read about the raid on the Stower’s home. I am flabbergasted! I have some questions. Has the U.S.A. discarded the constitution and due process in general? Do we no longer have civil rights? I would expect this kind of behavior from the government of N. Korea or China or some totalitarian state like the old Soviet Union. But HERE?!!! The founders of America must be turning over in their graves! Please somebody tell me what the *&%@ is going on!!!
