U.S. House Minority Leader Boehner Agrees: The Stimulus Hurts Ohio
Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 By Claire KittleIn a recent Hamilton Journal-News editorial, U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner cited our study about the dangers of the federal stimulus plan: “The Economic Impact of Federal Spending on State Economic Performance: An Ohio Perspective.” In his editorial, Boehner laments our return to the era of big government and the negative consequences of doing so. Job losses, slower economic growth, higher taxes, and a big burden passed on to our children and our children’s children. When will it end? And when will certain policymakers pick up history books and learn from our past mistakes?

Eight years of reckless tax cuts, deficits and an economy in shambles. We did learn from our past mistakes! Hence, the election of 2008.

You’re right and that’s why I’m so glad that President Obama has produced a balanced budget and cut spending in order to bring the deficit under control. Oh, wait…

Some people (OK, probably not the people at the BI), see deficit spending as a partial cure for a recession. At least the current deficits go along with that, while the Bush/Boehner deficits did not. (and yes, the current deficits do seem big…)

Start chanting “the hero’s for the moment” are Mike Ross and the other 50 Bluedog democrat’s.Also,how can the american people trust obama after finding out about his socialized healthcare and his misleading statements.Clearly he only cares about his socialist agenda and not the american people. thanks .
