Columbus, OH – On Wednesday, The Buckeye Institute announced that Michael G. Franc has joined its team as senior fellow. Based in Washington, D.C., Franc will promote Buckeye’s efforts to advance free-market public policy at the federal level.

“I have known Mike Franc well for more than two decades. He is one of the most knowledgeable public policy experts in our nation’s capital,” said Robert Alt, president and chief executive officer of The Buckeye Institute. “Mike brings significant policy expertise in addition to his credibility with lawmakers in Washington, which is important as he reminds them that the most innovative and impactful public policy solutions are being developed and proven in the states.”

Franc joins Buckeye from his position at the Hoover Institution, where he serves as director of D.C. programs and also is a research fellow. Prior to his work at Hoover, Franc served as policy director and counsel for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). From 1997-2013, he served as vice president of government relations for the Heritage Foundation. Franc has also served as communications director for former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX), and worked for the U.S. Department of Education, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Franc holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University.
