Columbus, OH – Greg R. Lawson, senior research fellow at The Buckeye Institute, issued the following statement after Ohio’s Tenth District Court of Appeals issued its decision in Columbus City School District v. State of Ohio, which upheld the decision of the Franklin County Common Pleas Court that Ohio’s EdChoice program is unconstitutional. 

“As long-time advocates of giving all Ohio families the power to choose the best educational setting for their children, The Buckeye Institute is disappointed by the appeals court decision. If allowed to stand, the decision will deny tens of thousands of Ohio students the education that best fits their needs. The Buckeye Institute believes this decision is wrong and will be overturned by the Ohio Supreme Court.”
