COVID Madness: Meet the D.C. Business Owners Fighting for Freedom
Mar 02, 2022The nation’s capital has been operating in a state of emergency since the onset of the pandemic, leaving business owners forced to comply with mandates with no option to question or appeal them. For nearly two years, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and the D.C. Council have invoked emergency powers—imposing mask mandates for schools and businesses and requiring restaurants to check customers’ vaccine status.

These business owners are fighting for their survival in a city where political leaders have amassed unprecedented power.
