Columbus, OH – On Wednesday, The Buckeye Institute announced that Andrew M. Grossman, a nationally-recognized attorney and constitutional scholar, has been named a senior legal fellow at The Buckeye Institute. Grossman is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of BakerHostetler LLP, where he serves as the appellate and major motions team co-leader.

As a litigator, Grossman has served as counsel in numerous high-profile cases raising significant issues of federal authority, the constitutional separation of powers, and individual rights. He has also received attention for his work before the U.S. Supreme Court, including for First Amendment cases, many prominent amicus briefs, and as counsel in West Virginia v. EPA.

As a scholar, Grossman has written widely on law and finance, bankruptcy law, administrative law, and the constitutional separation of powers, and is a frequent adviser to members of Congress on complex legal and policy issues, particularly concerning constitutional limitations on federal power. He has testified numerous times before the U.S. House and U.S. Senate judiciary committees.

In addition to articles in journals and professional publications, Grossman’s legal commentary has appeared in dozens of newspapers and periodicals, and he is a frequent commentator on legal issues on radio and television. A regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Grossman published his first WSJ opinion editorial under his new Buckeye title on December 6.

Grossman is a member of the leadership of the Federalist Society, an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute’s Robert A. Levy Center for Constitutional Studies, and previously served as a fellow and policy analyst at the Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. Additionally, he clerked for Judge Edith H. Jones on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Grossman is a graduate of Dartmouth College, the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government, and the George Mason University School of Law.
