Donavan Rees Lingerfelt

Economic Research Assistant

Donavan Rees Lingerfelt is an economic research assistant with The Buckeye Institute, where he conducts research regarding Ohio’s tax policies and how they affect the state’s economy.

Prior to this position, he was a graduate fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research. While there, he researched the efficacy of Maine’s 2021 civil asset forfeiture reform on crime clearance rates and how it compared to other New England states. Additionally, he assisted with the construction of Dr. Ryan Yonk’s testimony that he delivered before the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Energy, which concerned the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office. 

Rees Lingerfelt received his M.A. in economics from George Mason University and his B.A. in economics from Georgia College & State University (GCSU). While at GCSU, he co-authored an academic article investigating the success of an NFL quarterback’s career when considering playing time as a rookie, quarterback competition, and team quality. 

Outside of work, Rees Lingerfelt is an avid supporter of the University of North Carolina basketball and enjoys reading.
