Jacob J. Comello

Legal Fellow

Jacob J. Comello is a legal fellow at The Buckeye Institute, where he assists with Buckeye’s public interest litigation efforts that protect people’s rights and promote sound public policy through the courts.

Before joining The Buckeye Institute, Comello worked for seven years as a media coordinator with the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation in Washington, DC, where he helped garner attention for the foundation’s worker freedom cases in hundreds of media outlets nationwide. 

During his final four years at the foundation, Comello attended Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America, where he also served as lead articles editor of the Catholic University Journal of Law and Technology. A comment he composed, “Can Sports Leagues ‘Veto’ Certain Online Sports Betting Wagers?,” was published in volume 34 of the journal.

Comello holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and political science from North Carolina State University and a Juris Doctor from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America

Comello’s legal interests include the First Amendment, labor and employment law, and administrative law, and he is especially interested in defending Americans’ individual rights from encroachment by bureaucrats and administrative agencies. Outside the office, Comello enjoys watching movies or baseball, discovering classic video games, and playing bass guitar.
