Legal Center

The Buckeye Institute’s Legal Center defends the U.S. Constitution and advocates for sound public policies that:

  • Reform our criminal justice system while keeping communities safe;
  • Increase worker freedom and vindicate workers’ First Amendment rights;
  • Defend individual and property rights; and
  • Uphold the proper balance of power between states and the federal government and checks and balances between the three branches.

Sometimes good public policy needs to be defended in the court of law and individuals need to be protected from unfair and unjust laws that violate their constitutionally-protected rights. As a public interest law firm, The Buckeye Institute’s Legal Center also represents individuals and groups in court to:

  • Prevent government overreach and abuse;
  • Defend free speech from those seeking to silence diverse opinions; and
  • Support cases in Ohio and across the country that stand up for the rights protected by the U.S. Constitution.
